Over the last few weeks I have shared images and videos on the Blumera Instagram of life here in Meherazad giving you a glimpse into day to day life but also a glimpse of my inner more private life. I decided to share more of this private side because in essence seeing this side gives insight into the origins of Blumera.

Blumera is a brand built on love and so much of my love is rooted and has blossomed here in Meherazad over the years.

When I was seven I first came to India to meet Mehera, whom I was named after and whose birthday was a few days ago, the 22nd of December. Mehera is the Beloved of Meher Baba. As Sita is to Ram or Radha to Krishna, Mehera is to Baba. Meher Baba said of Mehera "She is my very breath without which I cannot live”.

Mehera took me under her wing and taught me so much about life at that tender age but also so much about love.

Mehera Irani and Little Mehera

Looking back, I feel Mehera inspired Blumera not only ethereally but also practically. This trip I feel Mehera revealed more of herself to me in ways I hadn't fully absorbed before. I always knew that Mehera loved beauty and to me was the embodiment of Beauty, not only by worldly standards, but to the very height of Beauty in the Spiritual Mystical sense as expressed through Her Heart, and Her Purity, Love, and Divinity.

Baba said she was the purest soul in the universe and loved Him how He ought to be loved. But this time, I absorbed more about how her Beauty manifested in the world through her designs. I had never thought of Mehera as a Designer per se. But while sitting in the sitting room of Meher Baba’s and Mehera’s House one day at Meherazad I heard someone say, "Mehera designed everything in here".  I heard this in a new way because now I am beginning to design furniture, sacred spaces and homes that feel like rejuvenating, uplifting sanctuaries. I also marveled at the exquisite craftsmanship that Her and the women Mandali (disciples) exhibited in their creations in the East Room. What was brought home to me was that I believe it was Mehera who prompted my design career laying the seeds many moons ago, which have now blossomed into Blumera.

In fact, I would say that Mehera was my first patron, if you will, as she wanted to gift my mom and I some special things. One of these gifts was for my mom and I to go to the bazaar to pick out fabric and design dresses as a gift from her. And so, the very first clothing designs that I did for myself were a gift from Mehera. I still have these dresses and treasure them.

As I share images of Blumera, I feel to share the source of these creations, as well. Mehera shaped my life in so many ways, and Meher Baba has been the constant source of creation and the very source of life for me.

As always, so touched to have you all join me on this mystical journey to Love.

Love always,
Mehera

When I purchased a Blumera creation, I did not expect that I would feel so moved by it as I do with my favorite paintings. These are beautiful works of art, with each piece telling a story that I became part of. The beauty and attention to detail is of course present, but there is also something transformative and inspiring - sacred, even - about their creation. I greatly value things that matter. Blumera crafts timeless, classic, and exquisitely beautiful pieces that do just that.
